Annette Scieszinski has been chosen for the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. She was nominated by the Monroe County 4-H and will be recognized later this month at the Iowa State Fair. The Monroe County 4-H has nominated a recipient for the award every year since the inception of the award in 2002. In 2001, Scieszinski received the Monroe County 4-H Alumni Award.

Scieszinski receives the award for the work she has done with the Troy Good Homemakers 4-H Club organizing and helping kids with their projects, as well as her service as the superintendent of communications, overseeing all the communications projects at the fair. During the fair, Scieszinski ensures that all the exhibitors in the 4-H building have their projects properly registered and in the correct department. Under her leadership, Monroe County 4-H has grown and flourished.

Among the people who have worked in 4-H with her, Scieszinski is described as an encouraging leader and always willing to try new things. Scieszinski was presented the award during the goat show at the fair on Sunday. Her family joined her for the presentation of the award.

Watch for the annual Monroe County Fair special section in next week’s Albia  Union-Republican. Anyone with fair champion or reserve champion awards who didn’t have their photos taken by newspaper staff and have personal photos are encouraged to e-mail them to dave@albianews.com
