Lincoln Center School is hosting a family reading night on Monday, Nov. 4 from 5:45-7:45 p.m. The purpose of family reading night is to strengthen community outreach opportunities and engage families in activities centered around reading.
The featured author is Marcus Emerson, author of the “Super Life of Ben Braver” series, “Diary of a 6th Grade Ninja” series and “Secret Agent 6th Grader” series. Emerson will present to all Lincoln Center students during the school day and will also speak and sign books at family reading night.
Family reading night will be held in conjunction with the Lincoln Center book fair, open Nov. 4-8 p.m. before and after school. In addition to the author presentation and book signing, other sessions at family reading night will include bookmark crafting, fairytale trivia and bingo, read with your family, and poetry and reader’s theater performances.
Book order forms and a family reading night flyer will also be sent home with Lincoln Center students and found on the school district’s Facebook page. This event has been sponsored by the Box Tops for Education fund through Albia PTO.
