The annual Restoration Days special issue is inserted into today’s Monroe County News. It features darned near everything you need to know about this weekend’s big celebration.

The biggest change from 33 years of Restoration Days is that the Follies variety show, the economic engine of Restoration Days, will be performed on Thursday and Friday nights only. Saturday night will be left for the big Wild West barbeque located in the alleys to the east and north of the Albia Brewing Company building.

Tickets for the Follies are $8 for adults and $5 for children at the door. “We wanted to see if we could get two really big crowds for the Follies,” said Restoration Days Chairman Tom Woodard. “It also opened up Saturday night for the celebration to continue on the square.”

This year’s Follies show is shorter and more fast-paced than years before, taking on the Old West theme of Restoration Days.

See Tuesday's MCN and special section for Restoration Days information.
