“We had another fairly productive night as a team considering that we only filled 11 out of the 14 weight classes,” said Coach Dave Wenger. “We started out as well as I can remember in recent years at this particular tournament, winning by fall in nine of our 10 head-to-head match-ups and winning the other by major decision. However, we followed that up with a somewhat sub-par second round which ultimately hurt our chances to stay in the team race. As the evening went on, we found ourselves battling in placement matches with 10 of our kids.”
