The Albia Lady Dee softball team continued to reap honors from the Iowa Softball Coaches Association.
Juniors Alex Beard and Jena Lawrence were named to the Class 3A ISCA team and senior Kennedy Schroeder was named to the second team.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont’s Reina Taylor, a senior, was also named to the first team. Taylor Shinn, a Centerville junior, and Davis County senior Bailea Yahnke, were named to the second team.
Beard, a previous second team selection as a freshman and a first team selection as a sophomore, had a sensational year as Albia’s catcher. She established Albia records for best season average (.538) and career RBIs (159), whle slugging nine homeruns. She played almost perfect behind the plate.
Lawrence batted .485 with 41 RBI and posted a pitching record of 18-5. Lawrence was previous first team all-stater as a freshman and earned second team honors last year.
Schroeder had a tremendous senior season, moving from clean-up hitter to leadoff, batting .505 with 40 runs scored and 23 RBI. She was also one of the top defensive shortstops in the state.
EBF’s Taylor batted .283 with 26 RBI and had a 15-9 pitching record.
Yahnke batted .423 with 30 runs scored. Shinn batted .351 with 21 RBI.
