The Albia freshmen softball team has been on a winning streak since starting 4-4 on the season.

On June 12 the Lady Dees lost to EBF 3-1. Albia scored their lone run in the top of the first inning but gave up three in the bottom half. Olivia Teno took the lost going six innings allowing three runs on five hits walking three and striking out six. Offensively Danica Workman singled, walked and scored; McKenna Jones singled; Teno singled and walked; and Allie Major singled and doubled.

At the EBF Tournament on June 13 the frosh defeated Knoxville 11-0 scoring two runs in the first, three in the second, four in the third and two in the fourth while Jones tossed a one hit shutout striking out nine and walking none. Offensively Taylee Wolfer singled, walked and scored; Jones singled and scored; Staci Etcher tripled and scored; Halle Hindman singled twice; Allie Major walked twice and scored twice; Lauren Kaldenberg tripled and homered; Molly Solinger walked twice and scored twice.

Also at EBF the Lady Dees defeated Oskaloosa 9-6. Albia scored two runs in the first inning, three in the second, one in the third, and three in the seventh while The Lady Indians scored four in the first and two in the fifth. Teno recorded the win going seven innings allowing six runs on nine hits striking out two and walking none. Offensively Wolfer singled three times; Workman doubled and scored; Jones singled, doubled and scored; Teno singled twice, doubled and scored twice; Etcher tripled and singled; Hindman singled twice; Faith Zanoni singled and scored; Major doubled; and Sollinger singled and scored.

On June 15 the freshmen defeated Centerville 15-0 in Albia scoring 10 runs in the first inning and five in the second while Jones tossed all three innings allowing no runs on one hit stirking out five and hitting one batter. On offense Wolfer singled twice, walked and scored three runs; Workman singled, tripled, reached by fielder’s choice and scored three runs; Jone reached by error, doubled, singled and scored three runs; Etcher walked, singled twice and scored; Hindman walked twice and scored; Kaldenberg singled, reached by error and scored twice; Zanoni singled twice and scored; and Sollinger reached by fielder’s choice and scored. (8-4)

On June 16 the Lady Dees defeated Davis County in Albia 12-0. Albia scored one run in the first inning, six in the second and five in the third while Teno tossed a two hit shut out striking out six and walking none. Wolfer singled, walked three times and scored three runs; Workman walked, singled and scored twice; Jones singled; Kaldenberg walked; Teno homered, doubled and scored; Etcher walked; Major doubled, walked and scored twice; Zanoni walked twice and scored twice; Sollinger walked twice and scored twice.

On June 17 at the Oskaloosa Tournament the freshmen defeated Pella 10-0 scoring four in the first inning, one in the second, four in the fourth and one in the fifth while Jones threw a one hit shut out striking out six and walking none. On offense Wolfer tripled, singled and scored twice; Workman singled, tripled, reached by error and scored three runs; Jones walked, singled and scored twice; Etcher singeld, walked twice and scored three runs; Hindman singled three times; Major singled and walked; Kaldenberg singled; Zanoni walked; and Sollinger walked.

Later that day Albia lost to Oskaloosa 7-3. Oskaloosa scored two runs in the second, three in the tird, and two in the fifth while Albia scored all three runs in the fifth. Jones took the loss going five innings allowing seven runs on six hits walking three and striking out six. Offensively Workman singled; Etcher doubled; Major singled twice and scored; Kaldenberg singled and scored; Zanoni tripled and scored.

On June 22 the freshmen defeated Knoxville in Albia 15-0. The Lady Dees scored 12 runs in the first inning and three in the second while Teno threw three innings of no hit ball walking one and striking out six. Offensively Wolfer walked three times and scored three runs; Workman tripled, walked, doubled and scored three runs; Jones was hit by pitch, singled and scored twice; Teno singled, homered and scored twice; Etcher singled; Hindman doubled and scored; Major walked and scored; Zanoni walked and scored; Solinger singled and scored; and Sheryl Millard was hit by pitch and scored.

On June 26 the Lady Dee freshmen defeated Chariton 11-1. Albia scored four runs in the first inning, four in the second, and two in the third while the Lady Chargers scored one in the fourth. Jones threw all five innings allowing one run on three hits striking out 11 and walking none. On offense Wolfer singled twice, doubled and scored three runs; Workman reached by error, singled and scored twice; Jones singled twice and scored twice; Etcher singled twice and scored; Hindman singled twice and scored; Major singled twice and scored; Kaldenberg singled; Britnee McKinny walked and scored.
