The Albia wrestling team captured its 7th an 8th dual meet victories Tuesday, beating Sigourney-Keota 60-0 and Cardinal 71-0. Albia is now 8-3 in duals this season.
“We’ve made a little progress since last week,” said Coach Dave Wenger. “As you may recall, we were struggling a little bit in regards to finding a more permanent home weight class-wise from an individual standpoint. Once we got everything sorted out, we’ve been able to be quite a bit more productive as a dual team. If anything else, we can file it away under ‘lesson learned.’ Obviously, experience can be a pretty cruel teacher sometimes, but in this case it was pretty effective. We are one step closer to understanding who we are, which is pretty encouraging because these guys are pretty tough when they put their minds to it.”
