Monroe County Auditor Amanda Harlan would like to inform eligible voters within the City of Albia that a special election to fill a council member at large vacancy has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 7.
Qualified electors have three methods for voting in the upcoming election:
1. Vote absentee at home by mail: Complete an absentee request form and send it to the Auditor’s Office at 10 Benton Ave. E, Albia, IA 52531. Absentee request forms can be found online at https://www.monroecoia.us/offices/auditor/forms/Absentee_Request.pdf . Or you can call the Auditor’s Office at 641-932-2865 to get a form mailed to you. The form must be received in the Auditor’s Office by 5 pm, June 26, 2020.
2. Vote absentee in person: Absentee voting is now available in Auditor’s Office during normal business hours. Absentee voting in person ends July 6, 2020.
3. Vote at the polls on Election Day: Polling hours are from 7 am to 8 pm on July 7, 2020 at the following location: Monroe County Courthouse, 10 Benton Ave East, Albia, IA 52531 – Albia City
Harlan said that curbside voting is also available for in person absentee voting and voting at polling locations.
