For the past few weeks a problem with the newspaper’s CTP (computer to plate) machine has caused all sorts of quality control problems for the production staff. Readers have noticed sometimes very dark print, fuzzy photographs and what looks like smudges on the copies of their newspaper.
“It’s very frustrating for our production guys,” said Publisher Becky Maxwell. “They are used to putting out some of the best production quality of any newspaper plant in the state.”
Fixing the problem has been compounded by COVID-19 restrictions, the Christmas and New Years holidays and the unavailability of certain parts.
“We’re hoping to get the problems rectified in the next few weeks,” said Maxwell. “We appreciate the patience of our subscribers.”
