Saturday, July 18 continues to be the target date for promenade and after prom activities.
Promenade will take place on the football field at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 18. Participants will begin lining up in the junior high parking lot at 6:30 p.m. This parking lot will be reserved for promenade participants. Overflow parking for participants will be available along the north side of the Mick Center. Please note that there will be no valet parking this year. All participants will complete a quick COVID-19 questionnaire/screening process before participating. The promenade path will begin and end in the junior high parking lot and will include walking on the football field.
Traditional formal prom attire is welcome as in the past. Students are also welcome to take a more casual approach if they choose, such as dress clothes.
We ask that all spectators enter through the south football field gate and practice social distancing throughout the event. Spectators will view promenade by way of limited seating in the bleachers or by standing on the football field. Utilizing facial covering is highly recommended.
This event will be live-streamed through the Albia CSD Facebook Page.
The After Prom committee has made arrangements for prom/after prom activities to begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 18. These activities will take place at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. Please visit the Albia After Prom 2020 Summer Celebration Facebook Page for detailed information. All prom/after prom questions should be directed to Lynnette Major through Facebook Messenger or through email (email@example.com).
If the weather does not allow for promenade to take place on Saturday, July 18, after prom plans will continue and promenade will be canceled.
