Bubba Sorenson has completed his Freedom Rock painting on the Monroe County Courthouse lawn.
The rock is having a sealant applied and is being kept warm until it dries. The tent will remain up until Monday, Nov. 11 when it will be unveiled at 9 a.m., following the Veteran’s Day breakfast at the American Legion.
The public is invited to join the Albia Freedom Rock Committee members, Lori Vitko, Ray Vitko, Kaitlyn Meredith, Carolyn Ryan, Allyson Ryan-Haberman, Josey Ryan, Joe Crall, Heather Anderson, Michelle Van Polen, Carrie Gray and Laura Teno at site on the southeast corner of the courtyard.
This is the 87th Freedom Rock painted by the noted Greenfield artist over the course of 21 years. The mural style painting has a patriotic theme that is specific to Albia and Monroe County.
