C. Franklin Fisher, age 82, of Albia, IA, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, under the care of Hospice of Pella.
Frank was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on April 6, 1939, to parents Clarence Fisher Sr. & Lola McCall Fisher. Frank spent his early years in Des Moines until his Father returned from WWII. Subsequently, the family relocated to a farm in rural Iowa where Frank grew up with his siblings. He started school in Runnells, however, when the family relocated to Monroe, Frank attended a one room country school through the 8th grade. In high school, he was an outstanding athlete in track and football. Frank graduated with the class of 1957 then chose to further his education by enrolling in Central College located in Pella, Iowa. On February 20, 1959, Frank was united in marriage with Mary Louise Guthrie at Reasnor, Iowa, a union that would thrive for 62 years until his death.
In 1969, Frank relocated his family to a farm north of Albia, Iowa. Along with farming, Frank drove a semi route for Anderson Erickson Dairy. This AE career would span 40 years, more than 2 million accident free miles and a record of missing only 3 days of work during that time.
Frank and Mary were parents of two children, Mike and Kathy, and as parents were always very involved in their children’s lives and activities.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Shirley and Phyllis and brother Clarence.
Those remaining to honor his memory are his wife, Mary, his children, Mike of Albia, IA, and daughter Kathy (Hap) Kellogg of Cypress, CA. Also, 4 grandchildren, Cody (Danielle) Kellogg of Fairfax Station, VA. Chelsea Kellogg of Lakewood, CA. Michael (Katie) Fisher of Albia, IA, and Cindy (Jimmy) Cronin of Melrose, IA. Great Grandchildren Ethan, Presley Emett and McKinley Fisher, Makenna and Addyson Cronin and Avaline and Hudson Kellogg. Sisters Beverly Crawford of Granger, Iowa and Patsy Clement of Grand Meadow, MN. Plus a host of nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia with Frank’s family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. to greet family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia with Chaplin Michelle DeBruin officiating. Burial with follow services at Union Chapel Cemetery in Monroe County.
