Albia Mayhem took a large contingent of wrestlers to the Corn Cob Nationals held on the Iowa State Fair grounds and returned with eight wrestlers earning All-American honors with fifth place or higher finishes.

Wyatt Stewart became a national champion.

Brodie Conner, Stephen Conley and Barrett Bonnett lost matches in the bloodround by very narrow margins, which kept them from earning All-American honors. One of those wrestlers finishing fifth and earning All-American honors was Coach Adam Mick, wrestling in the master’s division.

Alexander Keyes placed third in the 7-8, 75-pound division. He lost his first match, but came back with a 13-0 major decision, scored a fall in 2:45, won by medical forfeit and scored a 40-second pin over Kannin Ford, Mahaska Elite.

Fletcher Mick, wrestling 11-12 105-pound division, finished fifth. He won 6-2, lost a 6-0 decision, lost a 6-2 decision, then won a 12-6 decision for his All-American medal.

Kael Hutchinson finished fifth wrestling in the 11-12 135-pound division. He won by a fall in :41, lost by fall in 2:27, won by fall in 1:17, won by fall in :25, lost a 6-0 decision and won by fall in :25.

Wyatt Stewart, wrestling 15-18 106-pound division became a national champion with pins of 1:08 and 1:22 and a 7-5 sudden victory win over Connor Fiser, Moen Wrestling Academy.

Justin Keller was fourth wrestling in the 15-18 138-pound division. He lost 2-0 in sudden victory, scored a 16-0 tech fall, won an 11-1 major decision, won a 6-3 decision, won a 3-2 decision and then lost the consolation championship by pin in 2:22.

Paul Ballard placed fourth in the 15-18 218-pound division. He scored a pin in :34, lost a 7-1 decision, scored a pin in :36, won 3-0 and 3-2 and lost 4-0 in the consolation championship.

Michael Thomas finished fifth in the 19-34 170-pound division. He lost a 10-2 major decision, won 4-0, 4-1 and 4-2, lost by pin in 1:34, then finished fifth with a 10-8 victory.

Adam Mick, wrestling in the 35 and older heavyweight class, won by pin in 3:04, lost a 6-0 decision, lost by fall in :25 and won by fall in :43 to finish fifth.

 Josiah Kaster lost twice in the 11-12 80-pound division; Slater Thomas won twice by pins and lost twice by a pin and a 9-2 decision; Logan Wingett lost twice in the 15-18 106-pound division; Brodie Conner won twice by a fall in 4:09 and a 4-0 decisioon, lost 6-0 and lost 2-0 in sudden victory.

Stephen Conley lost by a 9-0 major decision to William Penn University wrestler Cameron Hargrove in the 15-18 163 pound division, won by pin in 1:42, won 8-2 and 5-3, then lost a 3-0 decision.

Barrett Bonnett, wrestling 15-18 174-pound division, won 10-4 and by pin in 2:51, lost 7-4, 5-2 and 6-5.

Zach Owens, wrestling 19-34 155-pound division, lost by p in, won 10-4, and lost 5-4.
